Day 3: Ratenggaro Village - Weekuri Lake - Mandorak Beach (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Breakfast at hotel.
After breakfast, we will head to the village of Ratenggaro in the Kodi area. Here we will see the traditional high roofed houses (actually the highest rooftops in all of Sumba), made all by hand and traditionally. This village is the only one of a few traditional villages left in the area, and while the village is just a compound of some houses, each house can accommodate up to 50 family members. During the harvesting season, however, most of the villagers will stay in their fields to work and only leave the elders and children in the village.
Then we went to Weekuri Lake, a crystal-clear lake that makes it a great place to swim and relax. Spend some time in the lake for a short (or long) dip. Do not miss walking around the rocks and reef, where you can also see the ocean from one side.
Lunch boxes will be prepared.
Mandorak Beach is located next to Weekuri Lake and is protected by two massive rock ridges pointing toward the center and crystal-clear water.

Breakfast at hotel.
After breakfast, you'll check out of the hotel and set off to explore West Sumba. Our first stop is Waikacura area for a short trek through the rice fields, where you can enjoy stunning views of a small river meandering through the landscape.
Afterward, we’ll head to a local restaurant for lunch.
Our adventure continues with a visit to Praijing Village, a traditional village situated uphill and surrounded by lush greenery. This is one of the few places where you can gain a stunning panoramic view of the entire village and observe its daily life. Take some time to stroll around; the elders primarily occupy the houses, and you'll often find children nearby, eager to share their smiles.
Our adventure continues with a visit to the breathtaking Lapopu Waterfall. After a scenic drive through Sumba's rolling green hills, we’ll arrive near the waterfall. To reach it, you’ll embark on a small hike of about 15 minutes and cross a bamboo bridge. Once there, you’ll find a lovely spot to sit and watch the water cascade down the hill.
Finally, we’ll proceed to your hotel where you can relax and unwind after a day of exploration.
